In short: every number you enter — savings, spending, Social Security, one-time expenses — is calculated entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. This page covers the rest, mainly around advertising.
Information we don't collect
When to Retire runs the full simulation client-side, including the historical market dataset. Your inputs are never transmitted to a server, stored in a database, or linked to you. There's no account system and nothing is saved between visits — refresh the page and you're starting clean.
Cookies and advertising
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, sometimes called personalized or interest-based advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
Analytics
